Once Upon a Morpheme includes Introductory pages and controlled passages to support the instruction of beginning prefixes, suffixes, and roots. This resource compliments instruction based on the Orton- Gillingham Approach or a Structured Literacy approach in a one-on-one, small group, or classroom teaching environment. Use the pages and passages along with your individualized instructional progression to meet the needs of various learners. Introductory pages include follow-up activities with word building, opportunities for vocabulary study, and extension activities. The passages are written in various lengths in order to provide variety and fit the needs or  time constraints that a dyslexia therapy session might include. 

This book also includes a “First Skills” section for students who need to learn the six syllable types, syllable combining/dividing, accent/schwa, and soft c and g before they begin their journey into morphology.

Note: Morphemes are not defined, rather a space is given for you and your student to construct your own keyword and definition based on your training. This is not a scripted book, but a resource to support your literacy instruction.
